Library Prefects Farewell 2009

Hi guys! Nice to hear from you again! =)

Well, today (20th August 2009) we librarians had our annual lunch together. It was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Well, we started our journey by LRT at around 11.15a.m. and you know what?
Most of us were wearing masks to protect ourselves…..even me. Well, we just had to protect ourselves against H1N1! Or maybe we’re just too scared to be outside. But it’s for a good cause! Hehe

Anyways, we reached station Titiwangsa and exchanged lines to Monorail. And from there we took a monorail (duh) and came out at station Jalan Raja Chulan. I did managed to take many photos which I’m showing to you later. All of us were in great mood. Excited as we already were, we took a group photo. We all flashed our nice smiles to De Lon (dud, I spaced them okay?) who took the same old picture with 6 cameras. Midway while taking so many cameras, he forgot which he already took! Good job man... will miss you.

Of course, we – still smiling – entered the hotel and went to check out our special room given by the hotel. It was really nice. Really nice. You can bet with me a lot on this. Definitely under the caption COOL.

The floor was carpeted and the entire room was well-flourished. Strangely, now thinking back, that room seemed like the description given by Robert Louis Stevenson in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, saying that was the house in Soho. Yes yes I know. I’m WEIRD.

So, we settled down and sat whichever place that we liked. I, Khai Meng, Eng Seng, Joon Chim, Racheal and Kai Ting (sorry if I spelt wrongly your name!) sat on the same table. Believe me, sitting with them was the best thing that I had chosen to do. Erm I’m not trying to be full of myself but they are really nice.

Then, Raj came up and welcomed everybody (he’s the MC). His head towered over the stage that I thought that he was going to crash onto the pillar on top! Seriously… what did he eat? Nice job, Raj!

Anyways, we started eating and enjoyed ourselves as soon as Mrs. Matthews arrived. She arrived a bit late but it was considered okay if you compared her with the representatives from SPCA. So, the seniors ate 1st as they deserved it. The food was great. Fantastic lunch I had. For the 1st few minutes, almost everyone was feeding themselves silently. I could bet (again) that I can hear stomachs grumbling at the end of the room where the Form 4s were sitting. Funky music was played during that time.

Almost everything I could’ve imagined was serve… from tomato cheese to ice cream to pudding. Hui Ling went GAGA over the cheese tomatoes that she saw hehe... Some of the food I didn’t even knew ever had existed as I’ve never seen them before! Call me a guy with no brains… =)

So, Raj came up again and he narrated a sketch with Jason and Naomi. The sketch ended with a dance from the Form 4s. You may call it entertaining while Eng Seng, Joon Chim and I sniggered. It was okay lar...

Overall the lunch and farewell was pretty touching. Never had I thought my seniors would say words that will reach out to each of us (yucks) but hey, it’s true okay? They really taught us lots of things which I don’t think I would know if I never met them.

I would like to say these to my seniors who I had sadly stepped down and bid farewell to today:

Kok Wee: Thanks a lot man. You’ve been a great leader to me and I wish you all the best for the future. GOOK LUCK!

Pei Shen: There’s nothing more helpful than you. I really wish I could’ve done more to make you happy =) Thanks a lot, sis. Please TAKE CARE!

Sin Yee: If there's anything that I wanted to say, it would be THANK YOU.

Jia Min: If you could remember well, all that you did for me was both pleasant and nice. So, THANKS.

Min Jia: Well, I do remember that you can play the violin like a professional and you definitely can complete the Rubrik’s cube in a very short time. So, let’s keep that memory and cherish it! =)

De Lon (I spaced it again k): You definitely can count the numbers so keep counting! 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,910………… GOOD LUCK!

Sanggetha: Although I didn’t really met you, you’re still my senior and I would still like to say THANK YOU and GOOD LUCK.

Take care all of you! I’ll always remember the stories that we shared, the jokes that we laughed, the stress that we challenged, the smiles that we lit, the money that had been counted (De Lon), and the farewell that we attended.
